Establishing a Root of Trust
How LiTPOW uses a signed statement and timestamped transaction as the public starting point for its records.
In a world of copied identities and unverifiable claims, how can a publisher establish a durable starting point for later product records?
For LiTPOW, the answer begins with a root declaration.
What is the root declaration?
The root declaration is a signed statement associated with LiTPOW’s website and a public key. Evidence of that statement was placed in a timestamped transaction on the Bitcoin SV blockchain.
The Root Certification page publicly displays:
- LiTPOW LLC and its website
- The relevant Bitcoin address and public key
- The signed message
- The message signature
- A link to the timestamped transaction
Together, these elements allow a technical reviewer to inspect the public record and verify that the message was signed using the key associated with it.
What does the root establish?
The root creates a public reference point for LiTPOW. Later product records can be organized so that their issuing context traces back to this declared starting point.
The root does not independently prove every legal or historical claim someone might make. A timestamp can establish that data existed by a certain time; a signature can demonstrate control of a private key. Neither one automatically proves legal ownership, authorship, physical possession, or personal identity without additional evidence.
That limitation is not a flaw in the cryptography. It is an important part of using the evidence accurately.
Why call it a root?
The model resembles a tree. The root represents the publisher. From it, records can branch into creators or product lines, collections, editions, and individual product credentials.
This broader “publishing chain” remains an evolving LiTPOW design. The current baseball implementation demonstrates edition credentials and public verification; future work can make the relationships among each level more explicit and independently inspectable.
The objective is a transparent chain of issuance—not a demand that customers simply trust a logo or marketing claim.
You do not need to understand cryptography to use the product verifier. The root exists for people who want to inspect more deeply how LiTPOW establishes its own starting point.
