What Does “LiTPOW” Mean?

What is behind the name LiTPOW?

I purchased litpow.com several years ago for an earlier project. At the time, I imagined creating branching narratives: interactive stories in which readers could choose different paths. The text would be served from data stored on Bitcoin and supported by Bitcoin’s proof-of-work consensus mechanism.

LiTPOW originally meant Literary Proof-of-Work: Lit-POW.

The original project changed, but the name remained. My attention moved from publishing interactive text to publishing evidence associated with physical products. The connection still felt appropriate: both ideas concern durable publication, proof, and the relationship between a work and its origin.

I also like the energy in the name. It sounds like a fuse being lit, followed by POW.

The lowercase “i” is simply a stylistic choice. LiTPOW is the preferred form, but the purpose matters more than capitalization:
